This page is based on daily JSON dumps from https://www.edsm.net/en/nightly-dumps. It uses a cache that checks for a new version every five minutes, so it may be slightly more outdated than the dumps. The page sends the dumps to your browser and runs queries in the browser, therefore the queries are not limited by the available server CPU and memory. However, the queries are limited by your device's CPU and memory and particularly smartphones will fare poorly or worse.
High-Grade Emissions (HGEs) are a great source of high-grade materials, but each material requires a specific system state. This page reports systems where the selected material can be found.
I have made a video on the subject.
Bulk data delivery missions are an easy way to make moneny and rank with major powers, but they are hard to find in... bulk. You want to stack multiple missions (ideally full 20) to the same destination. If the conditions are right, the mission board does spawn a lot of data delivery missions to the same destination station. Even in ideal conditions, it will probably take a few board refreshes to stack 20 missions.
I'm not entirely sure how states influence data delivery mission availability, how the distance limit for destination systems works, and how the reward is calculated, so the data delivery search is quite experimental.

good timing as eddb is shutting down
also i have noted from previous usage that the database is skewed at times as it isn’t scrubbed of system states on the regular
I have restored the functionality by switching over to EDSM.
I can’t get this site to work anymore. The queries keep failing. Is it being maintained? It really has been a great resource in the past. Thanks.
It works for me right now. If I can identify a problem, I’ll try to fix it
Does the line under “Search” say anything helpful?
Some days it works, other days it doesn’t. Hard to know. Below is what is returned when I search.
Query a query…failed.
ERROR
Couldn’t find ref system “HR 1737”
I tried with numerous system names, to make sure it wasn’t just isolated to the system I’m currently in.
Understood, yeah it looks like the data are partially corrupted – some systems work and some don’t. I have reproduced the issue and will look into it.
It’s them space bugs, HR 1737 is now Thargoid-controlled and reports (human) population of 0. This site pulls data from EDSM nightly dumps https://www.edsm.net/en/nightly-dumps, in particular the “Populated systems” dump. Well, HR 1737 is now technically not populated and it is indeed missing in the dump.
I have reported the issue to EDSM, but it is technically a correct behavior, so temper your expectations. https://github.com/EDSM-NET/FrontEnd/issues/515
If EDSM nightly dumps start including Thargoids controlled systems, I might have to update my side to process the new data correctly. In that case, let me know here
Ok, so for now just make sure I’m not trying to search from a Thargoid controlled system and it should be fine, right?
Thanks for looking into this.
Correct.
o7! Here’s one more data point for the data running script.
It pointed me to Yen Chelici – HR 8666 with 2 systems in mission range, but on both stations I went (Wallace Hub and Holland Orbital, to see if size is a factor) there were many more (the farthest one being Iveri, 188.27ly away) with none of them being HR 8666.
Thanks!
188Ly? Are you sure it wasn’t a cargo delivery mission? Sadly, the data running search is quite experimental because I couldn’t figure out what motivates the game to generate the missions. Inexplicably, it seems to work better for Empire. I have checked Yen Chelici now and indeed, found no data missionas. All factions are devoid of states, so maybe that is a clue.
I have also checked Ngalinn (empire), to make sure it still works and I got a good, albeit not lucrative, set for Mainani there. I see a pattern here:
Bust -> Courier Job Available
Boom -> Strategic Data Transfer
Civil Unrest -> Sensitive Data Delivery
and I’m pretty sure there is something for Election.
But even though one faction in Civil Unrest generates several Sensitive Data Deliveries, there’s a second faction in the same state that generates none
Also, EDSM dumps now seem to contain factions that have been pushed out of the system, I’ll have to add logic to filter those
Edit Aug 25: Factions should be fixed now.
Downloading failed. Cannot look for what I need based on Reference system
Hi Zack,
I have checked the server logs and found nothing unusual around the time of your post. I have tried searching materials around a random reference system and it works, but if you have trouble with a specific search please share your parameters. Though it sounds like an issue with DB download.
I guess I could update the page to display a more descriptive error when the download fails. There is some additional information that gets printed to the developer console in the browser but that’s a bit technical for a random user to extract for me…
I have pushed a small update to show more a descriptive error on a failed DB download. It may or may not be helpful in future.
Good
